Hankyu Department Store Pop-up Store: A Field Review!

Hello, we are amondz Japan.

amondz held its first pop-up store in Japan for one week, from February 15 to February 21, 2023, at Hankyu Umeda Main Store, the most famous department store in Kansai. We participated as one of the highly anticipated brands in Korea, with the theme "K-STUDIO" in Something Good Studio (3rd floor), a weekly pop-up space targeting Gen Z, and met people who love Korea and those who are interested in accessories!

Here, we introduce the vibrant scene with many visitors and the accessories that brightened the space.

Our first pop-up store!

amondz, which started in Korea in 2018, has grown rapidly based on its product strength and IT, and currently offers 80,000 products from approximately 2,000 brands. In 2022, we launched the online select shop "amondz Japan" in Japan, selling designer jewelry carefully selected from amondz's all-time bestsellers and long sellers. This time, about 200 items of 14K gold/silver bestseller jewelry chosen by amondz's Korean and Japanese customers were directly available to see.

As this was the first time amondz Japan was meeting everyone in Japan, we were very nervous. Fortunately, many people visited our store, and we were able to greet many of them!

Pop-up exclusive events

As this was amondz Japan's first pop-up store in Japan, we prepared various events to make it known and enjoyable to as many people as possible. We gave out special amondz stickers to everyone who visited the pop-up store. Also, for those who registered as a member on the amondz Japan online store or followed our official Instagram, we held a lucky draw lottery where they could receive products worth up to 10,000 yen on the spot. In addition, the first 100 customers who purchased over 15,000 yen received a limited edition jewelry case made by amondz.

We received many wonderful comments such as "Cute!", "Can I really get this for free?", and "A sticker that measures ring size is so practical and amazing," which made us feel that all the hard work we put into preparing the event was worth it. It was also even more enjoyable to have so many conversations with everyone!

Best-selling items at the pop-up

I will introduce amondz's best-of-the-best items, as well as popular items from the pop-up. (From the March issue of Monthly amondz)

In addition to these, small 14K gold earrings also caught customers' attention ^^ Many people were surprised that stud-type earrings or screw-back earrings, which can be easily worn by anyone regardless of ear width or piercing position, are not often seen in Japan, and we received many comments that they are good because they don't fall off. These are highly recommended as they are easy to wear daily or for going out.

INTERVIEW

Hello, Sebeom, from the powerful CXP_PL team who successfully led amondz's first pop-up in Japan! The amondz pop-up ended successfully. Please tell us what you felt during this pop-up, and if there were any differences between Japanese fashion and jewelry wearing compared to Korea.

Sebeom: I think this pop-up was very significant because we were able to actually meet and communicate with our Japanese customers, whom we had only met online until now. We also got a small glimpse into the preferences of Japanese customers. The Japanese jewelry market has some similarities to Korea, but it seems that unique and diverse materials in jewelry are trending, which was a slight difference. Although we only brought about 200 items to this pop-up, we currently sell 1,000 items in Japan and 50,000 items in Korea, so I hope you will also check out our online store. There are many other attractive jewelry pieces in Korea, so I hope amondz can play a role in introducing Korean jewelry to Japan and unique Japanese jewelry to Korea.

During the event, many customers viewed our products, and our staff were delighted to hear their feedback directly in the store. We would also like to express our gratitude to those who rushed to visit after seeing our Instagram and advertisements. Thank you.

Although there are no definite plans for future pop-up events in Japan yet, please wait a little longer as we will strive to meet you again soon!
